How I Went from Exhausted Business Owner…

to running a freedom business that grew without me and now helping hundreds of entrepreneurs do the same.

It took me 5 years to grow my first business to the 7 figure mark.

While it was exciting to hit my first Million Dollar sales milestone the journey getting there was not a road I wanted to rinse and repeat. Frankly, it was too exhausting. Even though I had lots of people on my payroll…

I was still working 10-14 hr days, 6 days a week.

I eventually took a week or two off 4 times a year, but it wasn’t enough of a regular work-life balance for me.

I realized I was the BOTTLENECK, but I didn’t know then, how to get out of my own way.

I struggled with ‘Perfectionism Syndrome’ which led to chronic overwhelm because ideas took me forever to execute.

I suffered from the ‘Imposter Syndrome’, the ‘Shiny Object Syndrome’ and a battering sense of ‘not enoughness’ which crippled my ability to think like a CEO.

I was so burned out I ended up walking away from that first business and embarked on a new chapter to just rest and do nothing.

In my 6 month sabbatical I began to realize …

My approach to growing my first business was built on my belief that as the business owner I was the main operator to make it grow.

In hindsight I was able to see why my first business became so high maintenance.  I never created a freedom business. I gave myself a job — and one might argue worse than a job because I fell into the habit of paying myself last.

It occurred to me what kept me trapped in the old ‘operator owner’ mindset was this invisible, yet powerful thing called pride.

It was my pride that fueled my belief that no one else could do things as well as me.

It was my pride that deceived me to think the success in my business was all because of me.

I realized it was my PRIDE that produced so much unnecessary PAIN in my business.

So, I decided to ditch the pride, and design my next business to make my team the stars of the business.

So, under this new paradigm shift I positioned much of our marketing message to showcase our epic all star team.

I spent the next 9 years developing processes to constantly improve our marketing, so we always had new flow of leads and customers at the same time refining a formula to create high performing teams who run the business operations.

The result?

The business become so much easier and way more fun! I worked less and earned more. In fact, to my surprise we doubled our sales 4 years in a row!

  • Year 1 I was working 40 hours a week in my business
  • Year 2 I shaved it down to 30 hours a week
  • Year 3 I cut it back to 20 hours a week
  • Year 4 I got to down to working only 15 hours a week, so I could
spend lots of quality time with my two toddlers at home.

Business Growth Quote

The best part is I never had to miss important moments in the lives of our 3 young children. I got to be available and present in watching them grow up.

But then, God stepped in …

I began to feel a major tug in my heart to go and share this gift with other business owners.

So, in 2006 I sold all three of my businesses and in faith, started Paramount Business Coach.

Since then, I have had the honor of helping thousands of business owners and expertpreneurs like you to sidestep the years of struggle and transform energy draining businesses into powerful personal and business success stories.

Personal Stuff About Me

Through technology I get to help entrepreneurs from all over the world, but I am “headquartered” outside Philadelphia, PA.

I thank God for blessing me with an incredible family — for my husband Tom and our three amazing kids Thomas, Keegan and Carissa.

I enjoy staying active with P90X and yoga. I love going rock climbing, biking, hiking, surfing with my kids (ok, my kids are still trying to teach me to surf.)

I’m an alumni of Syracuse University. Go Orangemen!

I used to be a musician. I grew up competing as a classical pianist.

I am a foodie. I love to explore new cuisines from all over the world.

Oh, an in case you haven’t noticed, I’m also Korean. I was born in South Korea and immigrated to the US as a young child.  I now speak broken Korean, apparently with an American accent.

If you’d read this far, thank you. I hope this is just the beginning of our relationship.
